My love language is film– so why am I in advertising?

One of the strongest ways I connect with people is through film. Whether it’s starting a club with my friends to watch every new Marvel movie in theaters, growing up with weekly trips with my family to Blockbuster, or crying my eyes out during Toy Story 3 in a theater with complete strangers, I have always formed strong relationships through a shared excitement for movies.

Since I loved films so much, I often found myself enthralled by their advertising. Whether it was electrifying trailers I’d watch on a loop, posters that became my lock screen for weeks, or a billboard I couldn’t stop thinking about, these campaigns made me appreciate how surprising and exciting advertising could be. I was fascinated by the business of entertainment and desired to create ads that would evoke the same reactions I had when I first discovered the art in advertising.

Engaging with film campaigns led me to realize that, at its core, advertising makes me feel even more intensely than any other medium because it presents a product’s most profound and ambitious qualities.

While my love of movies ignited my interest in ads, my love for advertising has grown far beyond film. Advertising motivates me to capture people’s attention for a brief instant and inject humor and energy into their hearts and minds. Creating campaigns bridges the gap between my excitement for the business of film and my love of art.
